Enski Barinn – The English Pub: Reykjavik

A short stroll from the parking lot that we frequently used in downtown Reykjavik and central to several things to do, we found shopping on Laugavegur and the walking path along the waterfront in addition to some Icelandic night life at The English Pub.

The pub Atmosphere was exactly as one would expect at a pub; bar stools focused around an elegant and clean bar case used to display the various spirits and adult beverages that Iceland had to offer. Drinking in this Icelandic bar didn’t make us feel out of place, in fact it was likely one of the most down to earth and enjoyable drinking establishments in Reykjavik that we sampled on our trip. They featured a section of domestic and import brews, wine and liquor, which were very inviting. As you will find by reading several of our other posts, we particularly enjoyed Gull, and we enjoyed several at The English Pub.

The night was young when we stopped at The English Pub, but it featured a variety of what seemed to be locals and tourists. We will certainly be stopping back in for a beer next time we are in Reykjavik.
